Moving cabinets

Post by Sergio Fetter »

I am having problems when I try to move a cabinet a little bit closer or further from the other. For example, I had a blind corner, when I place my other cabinet, there is a 2" gap between them. I adjust my move increment to 1/2". But when I try to move one of them, it goes everywhere but where I wanted. Could any one help explain what is happening?

Thanks!

Sergio,
try to go to Define Standard Dimesions and change your setting there. After you do that, try to place your cabinet in the desired position.

Settings/Preferences -> Define Standard Definitions.

Look for Cabinet to Cabinet Clearance:

Nemanja,
I appreciated your reply. However, I have done that. Even then, when I place the cabinet beside the blind corner, there is a little gap there. Then, again, I fix my object move increment, hold sift down and click my arrow. And that is what happens... unfortunately.
Any other ideas???

Thanks!

I will try that Michael.

Now, I will have to change back to align back once I am done... right?

What do you think that is conflicting in my drawing?

One more thing Sergio,
i am not sure that you can instal a cabinet so that the side of it butts into the face of the other cab. What Michael said should work. What you can also do is take both cabinet into the Cabinet Editor and make one assambly. Than you can instal both of the cabinets together as one unit and there should be no gap.

I'm assuming that the second jpg is a photo of the initial installation of the cabinet and it left a gap between the stove and the blind corner cabinet.

Have you tried going to the elevation view and changing the position of the cabinet from there. I don't have your cabinets, but I would think that if the blind corner cabinet is 24" deep you would just move the other cabinet to 24" from the rightside and it should not jump elsewhere, especially if you are in "free style" placement mode.
