Molding doesn't rotate correctly

Post by Sergio Fetter »

I am finishing up my drawing. I am trying to install a crown molding in the overhead area.
These are my steps...
select item to install> install item> molding> conestoga> pick my crown molding that I want> pick miters 0 and length 120" . There it is. A beautiful molding in the middle of my room. I bring it closer to the cabinet click to edit item> rotate... When I rotate on Y, it works great. But when I try to rotate in x and z... they rotate the same.
Could someone help me.
Thanks!

There are many ways to apply the mldg. The easiest way I have found was from a search on the forum that uses a re sizable top cabinet with the mldg. already on. You take a cabinet and remove all parts but the top and you apply the top mldg. to it. Then save it and you have a re sizable mldg. that you can place easily.

Sergio,

When that happens close out the rotation editor, then open it back up and try x axes first. If that doesn't work close it out again and try z axes first. This happens sometimes but I have no reason why

Thanks for bringing this up Sergio, this is another one of those longstanding bugs in the program but I do not recall much being said about it in the past. I concur that it happens and is very irritating when trying to manipulate mouldings, it also happens with display objects or display panels & cubes etc in plan or elevation view.
