Face Frames are changing cabinet height !!
Hello.
Can someone help me fix this problem?
After importing a cabinet (any type) and sizing it correctly, the cabinet height will show correct. BUT after adding face frames that go from the top of the cabinet all the way down to the bottom it ALWAYS shrinks the cabinet sides (and back if applicable) by 1/32".
Besides driving me nuts, it creates all sorts of problems when I print my detailed drawings for the builder because the cut lists are all off (I'm getting good with the white-out)
Can someone explain why this is happening and how I can preserve the correct side dimension? The face frame dimensions from top to bottom are all correct.
Any help would be great!
Thx.

Adam,
You have an inset dimension (say for the deck) set wrong or a rail float set wrong or something like that. Post one of the cabinets you are having trouble with and we can see where the problem is.

Adam,
The problem is your walls are backward. Click on the top of each wall to select it then right click and choose Wall Options then Reverse Build Direction. This will reverse the walls. Now try placing your cabinets. They should work ok.

Re: Face Frames are changing cabinet height !!
Hi Kerry,
Thanks for the hand.
I did the reverse build on the wall, but it still did not fix either of the problems I am having (cabinet sides getting shrunk when face frames are added and the cabinet float/sink problem).
I reattached a new saved version of the corrected walls and replaced cabinets for you.
Thanks,
Adam

Re: Face Frames are changing cabinet height !!
Adam,
Sorry I answered your other question on this thread.
The problem is the fact that you are allowing for 3/4" deck material when you do your bottom rail for your toe kick height of 3 1/2" with your deck material of 23/32". Your bottom rail should be 4 7/32 instead of 4 1/4"

On the walls being reversed, be sure you delete the cabinets then place them in the room again after you fix the walls using th Align to back Placement method.

However, in the process of moving forward on the project, I think another set of problems have arrived!!
More to follow in a new post.
Have a great weekend.
