I'll try the tips that you suggested. Especially the pick box size and the filet tool. The zooming and snaps off were being used but for some reason the lines wern't getting selected when I rolled over them and they turned red. I would have to click a number of times even though I was all zoomed up with snaps off. I will look at the size of the pick box as you suggest.

If your pick box encloses two lines (say at an intersection) you will not be able to select a line. Adjust the size of the pick box so you can be more precise or back away from the intersection of the two lines to be able to ick only one.

In TurboCad trun it to Isometric then trun it into a solid see if it will do it
I use ViaCad it will show me the lines at do not close

Sorry to take so long to get back and say THANK YOU!
The tips all helped and I've had no trouble taking a dxf file into countour editor. Was a huge help and will be in the future.
I must have made at least 5 different shapes in Turbo and brought the files into part editor to make the cuts. Very handy and a time saver to boot. Thanks again, everyone.
