I bought a new Toshiba laptop a little while back with Vista nothing special, it was off the shelf. Ecabs ran ok on but just ok.
The HD crashed and had to be replaced the other day, under warranty. Would I benefit much by "upgrading" to XP?

Performance wise, probably not enough to notice. If you are used to Vista and already know the few pitfalls of eCabinets on Vista, I would just stay with it and wait for Windows 7 (and eCabinets 6).
