Its been a while since I tried this but I thought you could take a part into the parts editor and create your geometry and then save the geometry as a dxf file. I can only get a x_t extention to show up.
Maybe I dreamed this.

You can open a .dxf file but it will save as the x_t tile which I think is a parasolid file.

Thanks kerry, I was hoping I could save the geometry as a dxf file but now that I think about it, that has been covered to prevent people from saving as a dxf and cutting on competitor machines.
