Under construction settings for the back, the option to choose the joint type where the back meets the top is greyed out. Not sure why...
(Be warned, it's a strange looking cabinet. I've used fixed shelves to generate the parts needed for my metal drawer system (Zargen)).

Set the construction for the back-to-top joinery on the top Construction Settings tab.

Dan,
I just tried that, and then a few other things, and still can't get the back to dado into the top.

Re: Can't Dado Top for Back
Nat,
Are you looking to have the top extend out over the back? If so, you need to change the top placement settings from "side flush" to "mixed flush". Then click the box to select the placement you want for the back. (This shows the little diagram.)
You might need to click Okay at this point and exit the construction settings before opening the construction settings again to make the change to the back for the full dado.
Also, what are you trying to do using the top inset for the back?
Joe

Re: Can't Dado Top for Back
I must say, that is a very creative way that you overcame the lack of part editing in the Drawer Box Editor.
Hey, are those drawer fronts Shopbot blue?

Re: Can't Dado Top for Back
Thanks Joe. We'll see, when I go to cut it!
The one snag is that I haven't set up the drawer bottoms to adjust accurately if I change the depth of the cabinet. I do quite a few of these file cabinets, though, and can't remember the last time I needed one that wasn't 24" deep. MIght just be a case of trimming the length of the bottom manually if I did need to change the depth.
