Grain Direction on Drawer Fornt Won't Stick

Post by Nat Wheatley »

I've redone the drawer front on this cabinet a number of times, rotating the grain 90 degrees to line up with the doors. When I try to group the drawer front together with the doors, I get the error 'grain direction does not match this group'.

Also, many times when I've gone back in to change the grain direction on the drawer front, it adds an additional 3mm to the top reveal?

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?

Try ungrouping the parts before changing the grain rotation.

Thanks. Foolishly, I was using an image without a grain pattern for the door and drawer front material. Once I changed to an image with grain, I was able see fairly quickly what I was doing wrong.
