Tapered Legs

Post by Neal Meyers Jr »

How can we taper the legs on tables if we can only see the parts front or back in the part editor. What I want is to taper the legs of a Shaker night table only on the insides.

I can taper the legs right or left sides but can not figure out how to twist the part in the editor to get to the other side. :? I am sure I am missing something simple but can not see the forest for all the trees.

"The trees should be cut in to lumber for furniture"

What type of material are you using for the legs--Display Board or Display Cube? Try using a Display Cube and changing the dimensions so that the length is actually the depth. Then apply your tapering tool (it will probably have to be reoriented) to the sides you want tapered.

Neal,

Here is a 2 sided tapered leg if you want to take the easy way out. It can be scaled and texture matched.

Thanks Kerry. I am not always going after the easy way out but this seemed ok. I am replacing legs on several chairs for a billiard room and this will help as I don't have much time to design. Now I can take the time to learn.
