Every time I try to add a bottom/base molding to a cabinet, the front molding is spaced 3/4" in front of the bottom rail of the cabinet.
These are furniture-style cabinets with 5" wide bottom rails, and I specify a colonial base molding for the bottom. Miter joints left and right with no scribes to begin (all 0").
If I forget to change the distance-to-top&bottom dimensions it gets placed around the top of the cabinet, with all three sides flush up against the cabinet.
If I do set the distance-to-bottom as 0", the molding gets placed around the bottom of the cabinet, but with the front piece 3/4" away from the front (gap in between).
Tried changing the left/right front scribes to -.75", which resulted in the left/right pieces being shortened to where the miters correctly met the front edges of the cabinet, but then the front piece was just floating out in front of the cabinet, disconnected.
This is a plain faceframe cabinet with no top (at this point).
Any ideas ?

Re: Bottom molding spaced away from cab front
I have no problems doing this. Here are my steps:
1. Open standard base framed
2. Set toe to 0,0 and uncheck Has Toe
3. Go to Face Frame Editor
4. Select bottom rail and change width to 5"
5. Go to Molding Editor
6. Select Conestoga Colonial Base, Paint Grade and set as bottom default
7. Set distance to bottom 0"
8. Add base molding
Front and both ends are placed correctly.

Re: Bottom molding spaced away from cab front
Oops...I forgot one step: set bottom float to 4-1/4".
The good thing is that the front molding is placed correctly on the bottom rail (other than the deck float ).
Post your cabinet so we can see what's going on with it.

Re: Bottom molding spaced away from cab front
That did it!
Muchas Gracias, Mille Grazi, Merci Beaucoup, Domo Arigato, Danke
I had the toe kick setting all screwed up - 5"float (height), -.75" inset and "No Toe". The inset must've been
what was pushing the front base away. The combo didn't otherwise affect the rendering.
Would have been hilarious if it was going to CNC, I'm sure. I love eCab, and the help all in the community offer, but use it mainly for designing and presentation, plus manual nesting.
