Hi Joe,
The cabinets are numbered in the order that you bring them into a room. If you modify or change a cabinet ecabinets will automatically renumber the changed cabinet. The way that I work around this issue is to redraw the room after I have the changes that I want. If any one has a better solution please let me know. I hope that this is something that has been added in version 6.

Hi Joe,
Thanks for the complaint on the website. One of best things that I was told once is to all ways document your work. It is money well spent to have a professional do the photography. It is all about the lighting.
Thanks for sharing your web site. Have you ever recieve any work from someone visiting your site?

Chris I do get a few orders from the website and I use it as a catalog of my work but truthfully I haven't added work to it in years.
Nick it would make things simpler when building the cabinets to have them in order. as it is now I have the corner cabinet as 1 & 2 top corners as 3 & 4 then i finish off the uppers then back to the base cabinets would be nice just to start left to right on the base then come back again L > R with the uppers. just the way my mind works.

Nick
It never fails that when I show a floor plan to a architect, contractor or homeowner they always ask why is that cabinet numbered out of order. So it does not make you look profesionial.
It also confuses the installers. For example on a job we were installing just the base cabinets that were number 1 - 12 so the installers loaded the truck with those cabinets. When they started to install they noticed that the sink cabinet was numbered #21. So they had to make a extra trip back to the shop. Also when cabinet #6 is changed to #21 you are thinking that cabinet #6 did no get made, loaded or cut. So it would help eliminate the opportunity of mistakes.

This is why I asked the question. If it is a matter of numbering the units in the drawings one can put in ones own numbers manually in the line drawing editor.

Yes, you can add numbers to the Line Drawing or you can even shuffle the existing numbers, but the labels and reports will not change.
