Corner Drawers

Post by John Powell »

Hi ecab users, I saw on an earlyer post that someone had used \"CORNER DRAWERS\" in a kitchen design. This seems to be a great idea and would solve many kitchen corner problems. Could anyone give me any info about these. Is it a special mechanism? If so where can i get it.
I would be greatful for any help

I have not used it but Blum makes hardware for corner drawers. You would still have dead space to each side of the drawers. It's just different I guess.

Hi John,
Try this link

http://www.parbury.com.au/storage_solut ... drawer.asp

these guys are in Australia
From what I have heard they are a bastard to fit and have a few problems closing and staying straight.
Our rep was here this morning and has said that there is a new version out that they will be stocking that addresses these issues.......give them a buzz about it

Corner drawers

Post by FredSasse »

Hi john

just made a display kitchen for a Showhome and we fitted Blum Corner Drawers, they work beautiful like any Blum product, just remember that you need a little bit more Room on the outside to the next cabinet and you need to shape the outside edge 45 Degree. We used frame drawerfronts and the drill in Front fitting and we were very close to the Edge, next time I would use plain drawerfronts first and then attach my fronts to that. The first one you do is a little bit of a challenge but they do
work well.

what all is required

Post by Mike Snodgrass »

I need to build two sets of these- what all is required ?

Do you build a cabinet that is square on back and only the face frame 45'ed.
Also, what do i need to know about the design of the cabinet ( tolerances, etc.)

Hi Guys, There is a new version of the Blum corner drawer that doesn't need mitred corners. It folds in on its self when it shuts. Very neat. The old model does require a few hrs. I allowed 4 hrs for 3 drawers. Maybe others can advise if thats too tight or too generous. If your getting the kit try and grab the new version.

Hi

we just did 2 cabinets with the new version from Blum, they work really well and no more mitres cut. It took us all day for the 2 cabinets, so 4 hours for 3 drawers is about right.

And I still haven’t taken a liking to it a 100%. Too much material goes into it, and it’s a bit labor intensive as well.

I just posted a completed corner section; Blum corner system worked great!!

It took us 4 hours per unit; the range is flamked by corner units)

The drawer fronts were HPL miter folded, so they required a little more labor

But the end result was great

Mark Rheeder,

Can you do that in a corner front cabinet? What you have looks great but I think they are looking for a corner front...
