Need Sub Zero BI-3OUG with Glass Door

Postby Gary Puckett » Mon, Sep 13 2010, 4:19PM

Would anyone have a Sub-Zero BI-36OUG with Glass door.

I went to the Sub Zero site and tried to download the 3D file but nothing comes up

I didn't see a reply to your request, so I made one out of a cabinet; just to see if I could. So this may work for you.

It will install like a cabinet, since it is one and the cabinet parts will be on the cutlist. Dimensionally, I think it's pretty close, not exact, but may be good enough for the look. I used 1 1/2" thick doors, made handles, cut out the door, used a display panel for the glass and then exported the doors with handles and display panel to put a stainless texture on and changed the display panel to glass. Probably could work a couple more hours on this investigating different possibilities.

If someone else has a 3D file from SubZero, then they could make a better one. Since the door has glass, you may want to put in some refrigerator items, green eggs and ham, etc. The doors are Display Objects.

Dennis

P.S. Since it is a cabinet, you can play with it and tweak or just discard it.

Attached are the 3D files from Sub-Zero. I was able to convert them to an STL with MasterCam, but it is one object rather than individual parts. I'm not proficient enough with MasterCam to break into separate objects. Also, it does not have glass inserts for the door.

You can bring the stl files into the Display Part Editor and change the texture to whatever you want. Then I'd bring it into the Cabinet Editor and save them as an Assembly. When saved as an Assembly, then it will snap to a wall. Other objects will not snap to it, nor it to anything else.

I installed them in a room and the one I fabricated is pretty close and does have glass doors.

Dennis,

Thanks for all the work you did and the reply. I don't understand why I could not convert the sud zero 3d file to a stl file? I have converted 3d DWG files to stl file many times. I have even got to the point to where I can explode the object and save individual parts so they can have different textures.
