Screen Measurements

Postby Myron Wiebe » Thu, Jan 03 2013, 12:03PM

Is there a way to measure the distance between a wall item like a window and a cabinet beside it? :?:
It would make design easier for me if there was.

Hi Myron, I am not seeing a way to get a dimension from a cabinet to a window.

You are able to set a standard dimension as to the closest a cabinet can be placed to a window or other objects. See link below.

Myron,

I created some wall cabinets that were nothing but a face frame with mullion or single pane doors inset to look like windows. I can change the size of the face frame to mimic different casings. The single pane can be used for casement windows. These are placed in a file called windows. They have display cube images behind the door for an outside view.
I use these to mark window positions instead of the eCabinets window. You can position them in the wall elevation view and then you can use the re-size/equalize feature to center a sink cabinet to the window or to align cabinets to left or right. This solves a lot of positioning problems.

Thanks for these tips.
I've often struggled to center a sink cabinet on a window ir decide how close I am to a window or door.
Regards,
Myron
