Tile Shower Pan

Post by Gary Puckett »

Hey Guys,

I am designing a bathroom I am going to remodel, and the shower is going to move to the other side of the room. It's going to be pretty big. So i was considering making the shower pan myself out of tile. Does anyone have information on how to build a tile shower pan? OH the shower pan will have to be custom made they also want a shower seat so to have it made it's going to be about $2,220.00 and thats just for the pan.

This is the best system on the market Gary. I did one of these last year, and it was sweet and easy.

Hey Gary,

If you you want to try something cheaper... Ez-board from Customs Building products is excellent. This has made all of my customers and builders very happy. It cuts like a drywall.
However, remember that you still need to put liner under the concrete to avoid leakage.

If you need more info on these just email me.

Gary,
I think it will work good.
Personal experience... make sure you seal every single joint... Also, before you lay the tile I would seal under it as well... just in case. Customs Building Products have a product called Red Guard. It is great for those things. We have used in some multi-family rehabs, and it has worked great.
Always remember this... water goes anywhere and everywhere.

Thanks!
