I would like to find out what clear finishes guys out there are using. I been using ML Campbell Krystal for the past several years, but the cost just keeps creeping up. Last I bought was over $170 for a pail. I been playing around with some Becker Ameristar (or AKA Amerivar) and Innovat. My concern is acheiving a durable finish.
I know Krystal is tough as nails, but these other products are about 1/3 less money. They both meet TR4 specs for conversion varnish.
The thinners for Becker's pigmented varnishes are also significantly less money as well.
The Ameristar seems to spray and lay down REALLY nice.
If anyone has any comments about these or other conversion varnishes, I would appreciate the info.
Thanks, Jon

Re: Conversion varnish
We use Krystal, love it. In fact, we use all Campbell products.
