overhead vacuum

Post by BenRatt »

Does anybody have an overhead vacuum setup to vacuum the sawdust off the table after a sheet is ran? If so I'd love to see how you engineered it. Right now we have a shop vac style hose plumbed into the dust collector and we vac off the big stuff and then blow off the fine dust. Problem for us is it's easy to trip over our "shop vac" hose because of how we have to run it.

Ben,
I've been looking into this same thing. We have a very high ceiling and I was going to suspend the vac hose from ceiling with a pulley, cable and counter balance that would hang and the guy could pull down from the ceiling. As with many projects... its is still on to do list so I'm sorry I can't provide outcome, just an idea I was/am going to try.
