Funny machine behavior

Post by Georgi Baltov »

Hi Guys,

We've been having some funny behavior on one of our machines. When cutting dovetail drawer boxes the machine goes and picks up the dovetail tool and while still in the macro will either keep going up on the z axis until it goes out of bound and into emergency or, which is the more severe case, it'll plunge down into the bed.

Has any of you encountered anything like this before? Is there anything that I can do to try and fix it?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. I am afraid that one of these days my operator won't be looking and it'll route through the table. Not a funny thought.

Thanks for the help

It happened again. I've attached a couple of print screens of the PLC history showing what's going through machine's mind. One is from the morning and the second happened just now.

Changing the tool position seems to have solved the problem. However I would need a bit more time to make sure it all works fine. "Weird or what?"
