Tooling Setup Order

Post by Josh Rayburn »

If there are two drilling operations with two different tools in CN tooling setup, can I control which tool gets called first?
I want my 1/8" drills to happen before the 5mm drills. Should I just put the 1/8" tool in operation 1 and the 5mm in operation 2? If I switched the two would I get the opposite result?
Thanks,
jnr

Josh,
Sorry but it doesn't work that way. The operations list doesn't determine what operation will be performed in what order, it only determines the order the tools are looked at when a operation is choosing a tool.

Thanks Daniel, is there another way to get the 1/8" drills to happen before the 5mm tool?

Sorry for the delayed response. i was out last week. If you are using a DXF file, then you can define the layer names with an order number so it performs the operations in the order you describe. If you are using a TWD file there is no way to define the order of operations.
