Hello all,
I am new to the forum and need some help with what seems to be a simple problem. When we are nesting TWD files in Control Nesting we are not getting very good results with materials that do not have grain direction. We are trying to nest 1/2" MDF & 1/2" Melamine backs. In both eCabinets and in Control Nesting, the grain box is unchecked yet we are getting nesting dimension errors on parts that should clearly fit on a 4x8 sheet. I tried creating a matertial in eCabinets that was 97x49 as opposed to 49x97 but that lead to even worse results. Any Ideas?
I have not yet updated to the latest eCabinets build. Might this be a part of my problem? How are people liking the latest build? Will there be much difficulty in switching over?
Thanks,
Chris

Re: Nesting Material with No Grain
Check your nest settings. Make sure nest to edge is checked if the part is close to the material size and make sure the parts are able to rotate by 90 degrees.

Re: Nesting Material with No Grain
Thanks for the helpful input and prompt response Daniel & Forrest. It was the rotation setting.
