Pre ramp plunge and ramp length for key hole
I was wandering if there was a way to control the pre ramp depth and ramp length for a individual tool. We have a job (DXF) that has several layers that benefit from the ramp settings but the client wants to add a key hole cut to the parts. Although we have not actually ran a part yet I can guess that this type of cut would require a special ramp setting Has any one done this type of cut If so what type of settings did you use?

Re: Pre ramp plunge and ramp length for key hole
Hi Scott,
The only work-around that has been successful is to isolate that one keyhole operation and nest the same sheet twice. Once with the settings to cut the keyholes - nest it with ramp settings changed, let them cut, stop the router before it cuts the outlines. Then load program 2 which is the rest of the machining with ramp settings normal and no keyholes. As long as the outlines of the parts are identical, the nest will be identical.
