sticky job file
Hello,
I have come up against a rather strange problem. We have four job files produced with Aspire. They are a tiled job with 4 tiles, one file for each tile. Once I load one of these files I can not load another file without restarting the super-control software. If I try to load another file there is no error it just does not load.
Has anyone encountered this before? I will try to attach a file to this post.
We are running these on a 2007 CS45 router.
Thanks,
Gerry

Hi Tim,
That is something I have never tried. Don;t know if it will solve this problem but it might be handy I'll give it a try.
Thanks,
Gerry

It looks like you can only load one file as the super-control won't allow you to select more than one.

Re: sticky job file
Hey did you ever get this resolved. I looked at your NC file and the starting code does not look any thing like mine. 810 310 1111

Re: sticky job file
Hi Will,
No I have never been able to sort this out. I have not run any more of these files so I don't know if it is a one time anomaly or what. The post P we are using is using arcs commands so that could be why the starting code is not the same. I have attached a copy of the Post P .
Thanks,
Gerry

Re: sticky job file
So what is the advantage of out puting arcs commands? I experimented with that a while back.
It resulted in writing a lot less code but the machine did not perform as well.
Say I had an arc 8 inches long @ 4 inch radius, The machine appeared to accelerate all the way through the curve.
And this resulted in deep tool chatter marks where it was accelerating like that.
Have you noticed this on your machine?
I went back to Aspire's little short line method of writing code. and The quality of the cut has improved
But the file size is tremendous.
I recently did a carved wall, 36 feet long and 12 feet tall. With 18 panels of 1 1/2 birch . Aspire wrote perfect code

Re: sticky job file
Hi Will,
We went to the arcs Post P because the machine was stuttering when cutting small arcs, it did seem to resolve that problem. I think as I recall we input code to slow the feed so not to get the chatter, maybe give the one I posted a try to see how it works for you. It is set up to locate at G52L3 but you could change that. I think I will try writing those files with the other Post P I have that does not use arcs and see if that changes the result.
Thanks,
Gerry

Re: sticky job file
Sounds like we have been working on the same issue. I was throwing a lot of changes, at the post processor, trying to evaluate the results.
But I have not worked on it since, I went back to my original PP
Maybe it was the G09F.75 that has made the difference. Brad has spread a lot of light on this situation with his post on here

Re: sticky job file
Hi Will,
Yes I think it was Brad who helped get that working for us. I did not have a problem with this Post P until I did these "tile" files I think I will look at how Aspire is outputting these as all 4 produced at once.
Thanks,
Gerry
