pocket islands

Is there a way to set up islands in pockets using the DXF layers? I'm doing a piece of text and the interiors of the letters like "O" and "R" are being pocketed out. I have closed vectors and I'm pretty sure they are clean. Does the Island need a dummy depth or something? Thanks for any responses!

The answer is yes. You should be able to find the specifications in the DXF Layer section of Control Nesting's HELP system.

The following is taken from a summary document that we provide our Canadian clients.

POCKET Z#p###
  • Closed region/geometry chain which defines a pocketed area - made up of any number of entities. Multiple
    “POCKETs” are allowed per layer as long as they share the common depth. Multiple layers of this type are
    allowed.
POCKET CLAMP Z#p###
  • Closed region/geometry chain residing within a related POCKET region which defines an island area - made
    up of any number of entities. Multiple “islands” are allowed per layer as long as they share the common
    depth and are within a related “pocket” region defined elsewhere in the DXF. Multiple layers of this type
    are allowed.
Support for BACKPOCKET and BACKPOCKET CLAMP follows the same "rules" as other "BACK" layer variations.
