bull nose cutters

Postby Matt Quarles » Wed, Jan 30 2008, 2:45PM

Anybody running bull nose cutters to surface machine patterns out there. Wanting to try something different. What are you guys using and where are you getting them. Hopefully going to get tighter radius in the patterns without changing to another cutter.

Matt,
Usually we use a BALL nose cutter to machine finishing surfaces Image
And BULL nose cutters to Round an edge on a Countertop. Image

Here is a link to the woodworkers wholesale where you can find the tool you need.

Or you can contact our tooling guy, Eric Shearn, and he can help you find the right tool for the job.

I think we have confusion of terms here. What Matt was inquiring about is a bullnose endmill. Which has a smaller radius than half the diameter of the cutter. Try Robb-Jack they seem to have a good selection of bullnose endmills.
