Just stumbled upon this old thread, after reading about the warm up cycle some do daily for their machine. Does anyone have this program written that runs the spindle through the x/y extents? I ran the spindle warmup code posted here and it seemed to work great. If anyone would share their program it would be much appreciated.

Stuart,

If you are happy with the program as it is, after the M05 line add in a line that is how far you would like to go on each axis. You can find the limits of your machine by going to Maintenance, then Edit Limits. If your limit is 120.905, I would go to 120.90 so you don't go out of bounds. The line would read G00X?Y? where the question marks are your limit values. If you wanted for safety sake, add in M00 after the M05 so you have to press cycle start again to get the machine to move to its extents. Then no one gets surprised.

If this were my program, before the G90 I'd add in an M48 so you can control feed rate on rapids. and also add in HOME right before the M02 at the end so the machine homes after it gets home. To clean up the program a little, after the M05 my ending sequence would look like below

G990
G90
G00Z0
G00X0Y0
HOME
M02

For 3 axis you can eliminate the G43 line.

Thanks, Clint! I wonder why this type of program is not included with the q-core? Seems like a prudent addition and one that costs literally nothing to put in the package.
