Restart to a line in RP-FR-MF0005

Post by DanFecteau »

I need to restart this program but don't want to do it at the begining !!! Restarting it after the first tool change would be ok for now, how do I do that ??

Thanks for your help.

Dan
You can not start a rental program any where other than the beginning.

I understand why because you want to protect it but this program wich is supposed to last 7 hours has been machine by a members and it tooks 14 hours....so that's why it would be nice to find a way to do it while being able to keep it crypted, and, if I break a tool after 8 hours of machining , I start all over ??? It does not make sense.

I will pass this along to the programmers who created these files.

Should this scenario happen, you would need to let us know around what line you want to start from (or tool number) and we can send you a temp file with the begining chopped out of it.

Dan, I have run this program and you can restart it. The way we did it was to write down what line of code the tool changes happen on and restart there. The lines of code are incripted but you can reed the line numbers. You have to watch the machine to see when these occur but it can be done. It is very tricky to restart so be careful or you will run a bit through part of the completed carving. We also found that the 7 hour time frame took about 15 hours because the majority of the carving is done with the 1/8" ball nose tool and the feed rates in the program were way too fast and we had to slow the feed speeds down considerably. Hope this helps. 8)
