Pocket Operations Broken

Post by Marius Gouws »

Good afternoon
I am trying to cut this cabinet that has a lot of pocket ops on the left and right side aswell as the top. The problem is that when it does a clean-up operation it cut into the material that it is not suppose to cut into.
I am including all the files
Thanks in advance

Marius,
try to set the clean up amount to 0. I thinkh that that should work.

Thanks Nemanje
It does work, about 98% better, but there is still one to two pockets that the machine cuts into the material that it's not suppose to. I never had this problem, but since CN 5.45 it was never 100% anymore.

Marius,
just to make sure, you are using CN v5.47.
It might be the complex geometry of your pocket. Try to change the geometry of the pocket thet does not cut clean. Simplify it.

Hi Marius,

I've taken a look at your design file containing the pockets and I've tested it in our upcomming version of control nesting, which we hope to release very soon. The pockets seem to come out good in the beta version of CN. The next release of control nesting is going to have a significant change to the pocket tool area of the software and will be calculating pockets in a different manner and ultimately eliminating cutter comp. errors during the finish pass on complex pockets.

We will keep everyone posted on the soon to be released Control Nesting update which will contain significant changes to the pocketing tool area.

Marius,

For a temperary solution, you can raise the pocket area and set the clean up pass to zero.... this will pocket all operations but eliminate coming back for finish operation which uses G41 and G42 cutter comp., which seems to be causing the issues in your particular case.
