Control Nesting Suggestion...
I was wondering is perhaps in a future update there would be any way to show on the control nesting window where the router is going to ramp in,maybe a colored line. This way we could rotate the pieces accordingly so as not to start on a seam(for us who seam pieces together) sometimes it just has the slightest variation due to bit wear and what not and I get a small void area. Thanks!

Hi Keith,
I will be sure to submit this suggestion to our Software Engineering group where it will be seriously considered for a future release of Control Nesting Software.
Thanks!

Keith,
Another thing that has come to mind regarding this subject, if you are using DXF files to nest in Control Nesting, you can specify the start point through the DXF drawing file by Layer name, however the nesting graphical screen will not show this.

Why dont you graph the job then you can see where it starts
Re: Control Nesting Suggestion...
Usig the THM graph screen may work in some cases, if it is only one nested sheet and if there are no macros or continous loops in program. Typically, a control nesting program will contain multiple sheets and may have call labels or macros creating a closed loop which could freeze up the THM graph screen if attempting to graph.

Re: Control Nesting Suggestion...
I've found the graph screen to be practically useless. Even on a simple file with no loops or macros or labels, just a few lines of straight code to cut some text for example, when I ask it to graph it *always* comes up with an error saying either the x or y axis is out of bounds. So I close it and graph again... sometimes it works on the second try, sometimes on the 3rd or 4th, sometimes never.

The graph screen is a good feature to show general orientation of part as it will be cut on the machine, nice for verifying direction of cutter compensation direction, and also good to show the ramp-in cut if you go into the side view. How is your NC program being generated (ie: manually created, through a CAM processor....), if you will send a copy of the program to program@thermwood.com, we will have a look and make some possible suggestions.
