In the market for an HVLP Turbine Spray System

Post by Marty Schlosser »

Hello, everyone,

I'm wanting to purchase an HVLP turbine spray system to replace my HVLP conversion gun and compressor. I am spraying mostly waterborne lacquer and such finishes on furniture and cabinets.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

I've had Graco for years and like it a lot. I've also heard good things about the Fugi turbines.

Marty,

I am not familiar with the water born prods but standard laq does not like a turbine driven HVLP setup at times. I have one ( grayco- high qual ) and have had issues with it. The techs and a finishing specialist I know told me that the turbine produces heated air. The extra heat then can heat the laquer and make it dry in the tip of the gun and at times in the air. It is also a fairly slow process. I have kept it because its great for stains, and other things but its not good for laquer. I do very much like the cap gun on it and tip. I should note that it was occuring during 90 deg weather here in Mich, so it works better at lower temps of course.
