beaded face frames
What width rails and stiles are most popular ? Is there a 'most logical' bead radius and kerf size ?

Mike Snodgrass,
I'm assuming you are talking about faceframes. Many different shops have their own sizes. But the most common is 1.5\", 2\", 3, and 4\" stiles and rails.
Some shops use 1.5\" for the bottom 2\" for the stiles and 3\" for the top rails.
Use what's best for you.

Mike,
I make all my rails and stiles 2\" for base cabinets. On upper cabinets it depends on some other factors. For example, if I am using under cabinet lighting, I will increase the width of the lower rail in order to hide the light fixture. If I am using a complex molding at the top of the upper cabinet, I will usually increase the width of the upper rail. Without these additional considerations, I use 2\" stiles and rails for the upper also.
