Part Editor Arch

Post by Chris Say »

I am trying to route a rectangle into a part using a custom made profile tool. On one end of the rectangle the side is not straight is is arched. As soon as I apply a tool with a depth an error \"Internal algorithmic ...\" pops up. I can apply the tool to only an arch and only the rectangle and it will work. But when the two are combined as one function I get the error. I will attach the part I'm talking about. It should still have the route path I need.

the file you attached is a rectangle back, there is no arch.

Chris,
Maybe Check the tool you created for errors. Could you attach the .tol and .x_t file. Post those files and we can take a look at them.

It won't let me attach the .x_t files but here are the .tol files. They make the same look as one of the CMT profiles.

This is a bug. I have a work around though. Offset your geometry in .4375 (Radius of the tool). Re-tool path with the comp left (radius comp) turned on. Hit apply and then OK. This should give you the result you want. I will report this immediately. Let me know if this works for you.

I tried to follow your instructions and I still get the same algorithmic error. I may not be fully understanding what you are having me do. Do I need to offset my tool path? And then apply the radius comp? Or do I apply the radius comp and then use the offset to get the tool recentered?

o.k. now I see the problem the problem comes when the tool is centered. I need to adjust the tool path and use the offset to put it back where I want it.

thanks
