Import from Excel crash

Post by Chris Say »

I'm sure someone has already come across this but I looked back through quite a few posts and didn't find anything. When I try to import a batch from excel I immediately get the \"eCabinets has encountered a problem and must shut down\" error. Is there a way around this?

Do you care to post your excel file and cabinets for us to look at?

I don't mind posting them but I think the libraries are too large to be sent. I tried zipping them and I still timeout. Can I email them to you?

I think cabinets@thermwood.com is the address, put to the ATTN: Rick Deskins. However, it could be really helpful if you can reduce the problem. Can you make it crash by just importing 1 cabinet from your library using the excel import?

It will crash as soon as I double click on the file I want to import. Even if I have only one item in the list. Here are the two files, one has a few parts on it and the other has only one.

Two things are wrong here.

1. You renamed Sheet1 to something other than Sheet1
2. You have stuff above the hearders and the headers are not to our format.

Notes on Format:
1. Header does not have to be included, but header order must be followed.

2. Name, Directory, Type, Quantity are required.

3. Excel import only the first sheet in the excel file named Sheet1

4. User Comments can go below the import data as long as 1 or more blank rows are in between the last import row and first User comment row

5. You can resize height width and depth for cabinets, height for corner cabinets, and nothing for assemblies
