So what's the secret to loading your avatar?
I've been trying to "reapply" my avatar after the upgrade and it's still a no go. . . I'm sure you can do it because I can plainly see others have their avatars in place. If someone knows the secret handshake would they please pass it along

Your avatar can't be found using the URL you have for it (http://constructionforumsonline.com/ima ... 2b5fb5.jpg). I entered it into the address bar and get a 404 - Not found error. Make sure the URL matches the location of the image.

That URL is not visible to the internet. You need to set permissions on it in your web server so that it can be server. If I go to that URL I get the 404 error. If I go to the directory above it, I can see the avatars folder but if I open it, it is empty.
That tells me it is a permissions problem if you can see files in that directory.

Why are you using the constuctionforums URL?
I can't upload the avatar no matter what URL I use. . .
This is the one I'm using : http://www.josephfusco.com/spidy.jpg

I right-clicked on your missing avatar and looked at its properties--that was the URL it had. Are you getting any kind of error when you try to link to the new URL?

Nope.
Just a pure white screen and a "Done" at the bottom left in Firefox.

Hmmmmm...Dean will have to check this out to see what the problem is. Mine (and most others) was converted with the upgrade. Yours wasn't converted because of the unreachable link to the constuctionforums URL.
I had no problem seeing the URL you posted earlier so it must be something in the forum configuration. I know people on other sites have experienced lots of configuration problems with avatars in the new version of phpBB.

Re: So what's the secret to loading your avatar?
I hope we just don't let this one fall by the way side. . . . I'd still like to be able to upload my avatar
I think there is still a problem internally, but there is a difference in the way the pages displays in Firefox 2 as opposed to IE7.
This is how it looks in Firefox
With just a blank page after trying to complete the upload.
This is how it displays in IE7
With a page displaying the error "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error"
Hopefully one of you guys at TW could take a look on Wednesday or as soon as you get back from the holiday.
Thanks.
