Change Door Colors

Post by Mike Snyder »

I have a painted cabinet and I am trying to get the doors to match the carcass.

I have a sheet defined in Board Stock as 'painted.' Whenever I need a custom color, I change the image.

My question is, how do I get the doors to match the sheet color? I am using Conestoga doors. Thanks, Mike

David,
I highlight the door in the 'door/drawer' editor and the 'main' editor, but the match texture is not highlighted, as if it is not an option. It is a Conestoga Presidential door. Thanks again, Mike

You must be in the \"Main\" section of the cabinet/assembly editor.
You must select the door. (single click the door and it gets a green grid)
You must Right Click ON THE DOOR.
Select \"match Texture\"
Click on something that is the color you want the door to become.

Regards,
Dave

David,
That's what I am doing.
Main
Highlight door (green grid appears)
Right click while still on the door

The items that are NOT available are:
Match Texture
edit moldings
associations
shelf options
face frame options

And how do I post a 'print screen'? Thanks again, Mike

Alt-printscreen will save a copy of your screen to the clip board.

Fire up your favorite graphics program (MS - Paint will do) and paste the screen shot into the file. Save it as a JPG.

Mike,
When you select your door, make sure you don't have \"Purchased Finished\" checked. If you choose a door purchased finished you cannot change the texture.

I just happened to remember that from an earlier post by one of the eCabinets crew.

I am having a similar problem in that I cannot change the texture of my faceframe. I can do it for the doors however. When I create the faceframe it is in the stock I desire (Cherry w/Cordavan finish) but once I add the door (which is a Conestoga Door in Cherry - no finish available) and then go back to main my door is in unfinished cherry and the frame reverts to match the door. Going back to faceframe or door manager after changing the door things look OK - but once I then go back to main my face frame is left orphaned in the original cherry finish. Any ideas?
In Door Editor things look like they'll be OK after having already matched texture for the doors in Main. Face Frame looks to be in the proper stock as well...

Dan,

You must go to construction settings/ face frame tab/ page 2 and un-check common finish with door then go to preferences/define stock materials/ board stock and change the texture for your board stock.

Good grief that was way too simple. At least I've graduated to running in ovals instead of circles. I'm gaining on it.

Thanks again...Dan
