part editor glitch ?
I take a counter from the detail layout room to the part editor to round a corner or cut a sink and upon retuning the image of the counter is badly distorted, for example the granite now looks like stripes. Is this me or has anyone else experienced this? I was searching the post but there are 3000 post to sift thru. By the way Iv'e been really busy building so I haven't been around much, sorry. greg

When you go back to the room, check over on the left hand side and click on the enhanced view button. See if this helps with the view.

Re: part editor glitch ?
after rebooting my system the problem went away. I noticed this seems to be an intermitant problem for me somtimes it does ok and some times it doesn't, it can happen with a counter or a display cube. Here is the file anyway if you want to have a look.

Re: part editor glitch ?
Dan, here are my system specs from an old post, yes it does appear to be an imaging problem in displaying the textures, but it only happens when exiting the part editor. It doesn't always happen, just seems to do it when I'm on a deadline. Go figure ? Maybe a ghost
thanks for the look

Re: part editor glitch ?
The machine itself should be fine but the video card is designed for gaming instead of technical applications. It does support OpenGL (used by CAD programs and eCabinets) but emphasis is more on Direct3D for gaming.
The card has 256MB of memory, which is certainly plenty for eCabinets, but I'm not sure whether that is dedicated memory on the card or if it "steals" part of its memory from the system. If a reboot clears the problem, which it looks like it did, the video card may be using shared memory.
It sounds like you can get by this when it happens again by rebooting.
