Exporting Cutlist to Excel
Wondering if anybody else had a problem with this button in cutlist. We just upgraded computers. The older computer, I was using, the "Export cutlist to excel" button was still there. Now i am on a slightly newer computer, and its ecabinets does not allow this option in cutlist. It has vanished. Both computers are running the same version of e-cabinets also. We recently purchased a " Miterlock" stop system for our miter saw, dramatically improving efficiency, with this, combined with exporting to excel, I can now sort in descending order. Having virtually no drop at the end of a cutout of faceframes. Only problem is i have lost the ability to export to excel . Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Exporting Cutlist to Excel
Until someone answers your question about the export link, you can copy the cut list and paste it into an "Excel" spreadsheet by:
From the cutlist in eCabinet Systems.
Press "CTRL" and "A" to select all.
Press "CTRL" and "C" to copy.
Open Excel.
Press "CTRL" and "V" to paste.
The data will be imported. You'll have a little editing to do, but you should easily be able to sort the data.

First shut down ecabs
Then try going into the ecabs directory below
C:\Program Files\Thermwood\eCabinet Systems\temp
Find the cutlist.xls
Right-click on the file and go to properties
If "Read only" is checked, uncheck it and click apply.
Open up ecabs and see if the "export cutlist" option is there.
Hopefully this helps.

John,
In the meantime you can try right click in the white paper of the cut list and see if the option for "export to Excel" is in the menu.

Thanks everyone for all the feed back. Copy and paste worked quite well. the right click menu also had the option of exporting. Thanks again to everyone. While I was . The simplest of solutions were right in my face.

Did you ever check the cutlist.xls file? Look back at Todd's post.

I did but i was unable to locate that file. After no luck looking, i did a files and folder search on entire c:. Also returning no such file name. We also searched the second newer computer and had no luck locating the file there either. Any suggestions on other locations. Thanks

The problem of exporting has been solved. Now, there is another problem. When I go to line drawing editor, having taken all layouts and walls to editor and modified, I can now print my pictures. Only problem is when I print my first pic everything is fine. it prints correctly. When i print my 2nd pic, i click that page number, click print button in the tool bar, thats when e-cabinets freezes, gives me an error "e-cabinets has encountered a problem and will be shut down". This happens every time I try to print more than one pic each time i am in line drawing editor. if i go back to custom layout and then return to line drawing editor, i then can print one more picture. Any idea whats goin on? Thanks

Re: Exporting Cutlist to Excel
Just for quriosity sake.
Open file go to LDE
print the first page
go back to detail room
go back into LDE and print second page to see if it crashes.
I remember something like this happenning to me in the past as well. But it was a long time ago 2-3 years ago? And I think that's how I had to get through it.
Hope this helps

I have tried doing this. the program will not crash if i do like you instructed. The job consists of 11 pics in LDE. I can print 1 at a time, as long as i go back to detail room everytime i print 1. Its when i stay in LDE and print the pics consecutively, the program crashes the second i push the print button in the tool bar for the 2nd pic. is this what you remember yours doing?
Thanks
