Shadow casting

Post by Michael Yeargain »

Just a little experimenting with the lighting. This is a fantastic example of the potential of this software. Look at the mountains in the windows and the shadow the "sun" is casting into the room. SO Cool.

That's very cool Michael. The most realistic outdoor image I've seen yet.

That is a very nice outdoor image. Any time you can show the customer the actual view outside their windows, they will be impressed.

One question though...I see the halo outside (the light fixture/sun), but where is the angel to go with it?

Thanks Michael.

Dan you're right about the presentation of the design, in its wonderful glory; photo-realistic. That's helps in a huge way to sell the jobs without doubt.

There was one angel in the picture, but I guess it had better things to do than hang around listening to us... :joker:

Hopefully I didn't offend any one.

Very nice usage Michael.

I like to take a picture out the window of whatever the natural view is as well. Another tip, capture any artwork in the room (such as the Terry Redlin print above this mantle) and create a display cube that accurately represents it's WxHxD. Use the picture as the cubes image, and it looks incredibly life-like. Same thing for fireplaces, etc. (It's also an easy way to recreate a stone hearth/surround/chase.)

Yea I have to admit it is good techniques. I really like the idea for the art on the wall. If you can capture the clients artwork it will produce a fantastic display of talent.

I have also used a photo of a rug in the past. A customer wanted to see what that would look like in their new study. Looked pretty good.
