Rental carving RP-FR-MF0005

Post by DanFecteau »

Here's the result, I made a couple mistakes so I had to finaly machine it at 1.04" thick instead of 1.4" but the result is still amazing. It took me 8 1/2 hours so it's not that bad.

How much do you think we can sell a piece like this ?

Thank you.

Let's see, 8-1/2 hours plus materials and lost production time for cabinet parts...I'd say ask at least $39 for it!!! :joker:

The molding really turned out great. I would guess its not something you would want to do every day though what with the amount of time it takes.

Not every day but our CNC is not running 40 hours a week so I could find a day every two weeks maybe....and sell it .....I'd say 500 $....what do you think ?

Shop time should be at least a $100.00 an hour. You should double the price: $1,000.00

Dan,
That turned out nice, although if your router ran over 8 hrs on it, you will need to charge much more than the $500, think of the wear and tear on your pump and your spindle, program rental, power for all those, etc.

I think you're right, 800 $ minimum would be a better idea.

Thank you.

Dan,

That did turn out nice! The grape carving has finer detail than I thought. I wonder if it could be scaled down for a cabinet door style.
