eCabinets Made Easy

Post by Kerry Fullington »

Has the eCabinets Made Easy manual been updated to Version 5.2?
If it has, is it available for purchase in the Member Store? I can't find it there and I guess the Thermwood servers are down right now because I can't get on the eCabinets or Thermwood Sites.

Hi Kerry,

I thought that everything stayed the same, and the changes to the system were put on the Tutorials.

Hi Kerry. The Made Easy literature has been incorporated in the new manual for 5.2. The book will no longer be maintained.

Larry,

Is the manual available for purchase through the member store or is it only electronic now?

I had a feeling that would be the next question. We'll look into a printed version that can be purchased. For now there are 4 options for viewing.

1.) Under Help menu in eCabinet Sytems
2.) Manual tab on http://www.ecabinetsystems.com
3.) doc version under Printable Manual on http://www.ecabinetsystems.com
4.) pdf version under Printable Manual on http://www.ecabinetsystems.com

Thanks Larry,

The printed manuals are a good idea. Your printed and bound manuals are a lot better than printing out 500+ pages from the pdf.

I for one don't like digital books and manuals.

TBA at a later date upon completion we'll be offering a printed version of the training workbooks. As mentioned by someone in the past, the previous training workbooks were not meant to be a stand-alone document. With that in mind, the page count on the new workbooks will be much healthier, so it will be divided into two. The first workbook covers many of the basics, gets into creating and detailing rooms, the reports, nest diagrams, batch cabinets, CNC output and other sales tools, i.e., incorporating display objects in a room, lighting, presentation view and slide show. The second book primarily covers building a cabinet, then is getting into the various other editors, i.e., Display Part Editor, Part Editor, Constraint Manager, Shape Manager, and Line Drawing Editor as well as creating an assembly.

Anyways, it is in the works and should be particularly beneficial for the first-time user. I don't have a cost estimate as of yet nor am I going to stake out a date of availability. I'm into some of the more creative sections of the workbook, such as the display part editor, part editor and shape manager at this time and need to determine a strategy for those sections and then write. As stated, this workbook is more detailed and thus I've tried to be more step-by-step conscious.

In the meantime, the videos are a great asset, so check them out.

Dennis,

I am glad you are going to be offering the training workbooks. I am trying to help a new user and all of this printed material would be a great help.
