Off topic. Doors on wide TV cabinet

Post by Ron Shultz »

I need some input on what kind of doors to put on a TV/entertainment center. It cannot be more than 14 or 15" deep and they would like the widest TV possible, up to 50" or so. What have some of ya'll done? I thought about bifold pocket doors, but would like to hear some of your ideas. I'm the new kid on the block, only been building cabinets for 2 years so its Cabinet 101 every day.

Thanks,

Ron

Ron, I'd follow Lamar's lead on the bifold door solution. I have a similar situation and that's how I'm planning to do it.
Now, if I can figure out how to rotate the doors so they show open in the presentation jpg image......I know Kerry has done it several times in his kitchen layouts, just can't get it yet...
Anyway, here's what it looks like so far. The center cabinet holds a pop-up flatscreen.

Joe,

Not sure but what if you bring the door in cabinet editor (like you were going to put it on the side of the cabinet)

and then rotate it and place it in the opening.

To get the doors to show open in the presentation, you have to delete the doors in the cabinet editor then in the layout room add new display doors properly sized, rotated and placed. It would be wise to "save as" another job name so as to keep the original job intact.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to build it like you suggested, Lamar.
