COPY AND PASTE IN L.D.E.

Post by Al dedenus »

Is there a way to copy text from one page and paste it to another.Did a drawing for a customer with tons of notes and text, now they have changed the drawing slightly which I have redrawn but I don"t want to spend an hour re-typing the text.

tried that but still doesn't work.I can highlight a cabinet and paste it to a new page(as well as any text thats on the cabinet) but not any text thats separate from the cabinet. It doesn't tell you anywhere in the manual how to copy and paste ONLY TEXT.you will have to walk me through it step by step!! :wall:

Actually not quite right in my last post. The text actually on the drawing ,even with a leader doesn't show up on the new page when I paste it there.Have tried using all the icons from part to room still no luck.Oh well maybe if I give it the sleep test I might work it out. Yea right!

I can't copy text either. I just created a single LDE page and added text to it--no cabinets or anything, just text. I selected the text, right-clicked and chose "copy." When I paste (to a new page or notepad or anything else) whatever was in the buffer is pasted instead of the selected text.

I can't recall ever trying to copy text from one page to another so I can't say for sure whether it ever worked.

I also cannot copy text.
However, insert tables can be copy and pasted so as a workaround you might be able to create a single cell table and put the text in there, and than copy and paste that from page to page.
Hopefully copying and pasting text is something on the list of things to add to the LDE.

I can't get it to work again either. I'm just trying to reproduce what I did.

If you already have something in the paste buffer (say, something you copied from notepad) you can paste it but you cannot copy from the LDE.

Why not copy and paste what you need into a word document. Kind of like what I have been doing with my cut list and frames.Still time consuming but could be done faster than an hour.

Just a thought.

My goal is to place job name, room, page etc. in to a table. I was able to create table, place text, and copy, and paste to other pages in the LDE. ONLY copied from the first page that you created it.

>create, and place table
>place cursor over desired box, hold shift, and click left mouse button, it should high lite green
>start to type, escape when done
> fill in rest of what you want
> to copy/paste to other pages in LDE,
> select entire box in blue
> edit> copy, go to another page, edit> paste> point, and left click once.
