Cherry Display Column

Post by John J. Desmond »

Here is a display column that I am going to be making. Actually three of them with a job. The center is a column of mirror. The glass shelves are going to be adjustable. I have inserted cherry to drill for shelves which means they are not adjustable. Has anyone ever had mirror drilled for adjustable shelves? Is it possible? It will have glass doors on two sides while the other two will just be glass sides. I still haven't figured out how to even put shelves in it with the mirrored column. Any ideas?
Another question, how do you make mirrors in eCabs? Is it possible?

Do the shelves have to be adjustable? Yes you can make mirror with eCab. I don't know how to link you to the post, so just type in mirror in the search box and start looking.
It looks like the shelves are going all the way around the center column, are you going to have them ( the glass shelf ) mitered.

One Idea is to have fix shelves and dado in between the glass column

John,

This is nice design! What kind of items will be displayed?

Drilling holes in the mirror shouldn't be a problem. I'm sure the place where you get the mirrors and glass from should be able give you some good insight and even a better option.

Gary & John,

Thanks for the input. I was able to find the link and everything worked fine. The customer is fixed on adj. shelves. I told him I would have to talk to a glass guy to see what was possible. He will be displaying models of ships. I would imagine that I would have to have mitered shelves made. There would be no way to put them in or get them out any other way.
