E cab vs Planits Solid

Post by Joe Redburn »

I download the latest and greatest ECabs and now I have a problem with Solid. Every time I start Solid or open a file or ask for a report, Ecabs tries to start the update all over again. I click cancel and the install goes away for awhile. I get an error code 1706 when I cancel the install. I deleted the download and it still runs. How do I get rid of it? I like the new version of Ecabs but not in middle of my Solid program.
Regards
Joe

I had a problem that was close to this one. It was becouse of an install that got cancelled before it was complete.
Windows installer kept some files in the reg that caused this to happen.

I had to go in the reg and manually delete any referance to the program that was installed and re install it.

Did you abort any installations or have a crash?

Gary,
The download and the install went smooth and finished with out a glitch. My Solid is now a year out of support so I am left with the update CD's. The last update CD blew the whole system and it took an online tech 6 hours to get me running again so I really don't want to open that can of worms.
I can do regedit if that is the only option.

Joe
Try system restore to a date that everything ran fine. Then set a new restore date and try and reload ecabs again.

cheers
