Partition and shelf pin holes

Post by Patrick Russell »

Have a question on applying shelf pin hole on both sides of a partition. Is the integrate of the partition weaken and if it is how do you avoid this? Do you but another partition to it or off set the shelf pin holes on one side? Thank you

Patrick,

The integrity of the partition should not be weakened just by adding shelf pin holes to both sides, if you are using 3/4" material or even 5/8" this should be fine.

One thing to remember on thinner material. If you are placing shelf pin holes on both sides and wish to have your shelving level across the cabinet. The length of the pins may interfere with each other. I try to stay with 3/4" for center partitions to avoid this problem.
