Duane,
How about a little more detail on what is newly released or improved at AWFS at the Thermwood stand. Naturally Ecabinet related improvements would be very interesting. Are you showing the beta of Ecabinets there?
What about the machinery any new things or processes shown?
Thanks for the updates so we feel more the part of the show.

Regards

Neville

We are showing eCabinets Version 5.2 Build 5 at AWFS (Version 6.0 Build 1 is in Beta Testing currently, so hopefully not too much longer).

Other things on display at the show are a CabinetShop 45 5×10 with the i-cut camera mounted on it that is cutting signs and nested-based cabinets. Some of the material(s) we are using are plywood/melamine/acryllic/di-bond/pvc/alucobond.

We also have three Fravol Edgebanders at the show - a S2 Echo Automatic Edge Bander, a VSB Semi-Automatic Edge Bander and a VSR Semi-Automatic Trimmer.

We are working in partnership with ShopBot and the link from eCabs to a ShopBot (this is on display in their booth), and also have representatives from 20-20 Technologies demonstrating the link from 20-20 to a Thermwood at both our booth and theirs.

Thanks for the questions - we will have more images and updates as the show progresses.
Thanks,

Duane-
Could you expand a bit on what the i-cut software is? Was at the booth, saw the samples, but did think twice about what it was....
Thanks,
Fred

Hi Fred,

I-Cut is a camera and software combo with the camera mounted next to the spindle and the software installed on the controller. When printing signs, for instance a screen press, the force that is put on the material when printing can cause distortion or skewing. The same goes for the other printing methods. The design file not only contains the design(s) but also black dots around each design. The camera will automatically scan each dot on the printed material and then the machine will cutout the design. I have attached a simple picture showing how the image can be distorted and with the dots, camera and the algorithims within the software can create perfect signs.

Jason,
Is there anywhere I could get more information on this. I do some sign work for a couple different shops in town and I am curious how this might work with something like that new Andi co-jet or just laminated art onto a sheet of material.
Thanks,
Fred

Hi Fred,

We are currently working on literature for this but will email you a couple of files that you can take a look at.

Is the Andi Co-Jet a UV printer?

thanks,

Jason,
Thank you for the files... Yes, my understanding is the co-jet is UV.
Thanks,

Hi Fred,
Was good talking with you and your wife at the show. When convenient just give me a call and we can discuss the i-cut process. I'm working with a customer now who is very interested in this process. Actually have a web-ex demo scheduled with them next week. As a result I've become pretty familiar with the process and can enlighten you a little more in detail if need. Thanks Fred. If I don't hear from you I'll try you soon.
