Re: eCabs Expiring! RIP
Hi I guess Nick that you have since checked the update and resolved this problem.....
If not, do. It will fix the problem.
Though, the date of March 2010....... I hope that we have a new toy to play with before then.....
Sorry guys I don't mean to start this again. I really do appreciate the work your putting in this release, as with previous ones.
I am, however, just a big kid at heart and love new toys to play with!
Put me and everybody else out of our misery, please tell us we have a new toy sooon.... Before March?????

Re: eCabs Expiring! RIP
There are primarily two schools of thought when providing updates: 1-Incremental; 2-Differential. Incremental requires that a new user load the .0 release then load every update between it and the final release, say x.0.6. Differential provides all previous updates in a single roll-up package. The former is smaller and is easier for existing, up-to-date installations, the latter is larger and easier for new installations. The eCabinet Systems team chooses to do differential updates so even a expiration update will contain all previous updates.Nick M Singer wrote:Thanks Bryan got it! 63Megs for a time update, incredible!!!

Hi Dean
Thanks for that explaination. I see now why updates are so large.

Hi Anthony,
You will need to run the update as an Administrator. Save the update directly to your computer, right-click and "Run as administrator".
This should take care of your problem.

Hey Anthony,
Check this pdf and make sure steps 10-12 were performed.
http://order.ecabinetsystems.com/update ... nstall.pdf
If you have tried this and still cannot get eCabinets to open, it is most likely due to the exe file not completely installing.
What causes this to happen is either a firewall, virus protector, or spyware blocker not letting the new exe file overwrite the older exe file.
You can first try turning off firewall, virus protector, spyware and run the update again that you saved to your computer. If you run and it gives you the only option to remove, go ahead and remove. It will only remove the update portion that did not successfully install anyway (but thinks it did). Then, with the firewall, etc... still off, run the update again. Let me know whether this takes care of it or not.
