Fake Paneled Doors

Post by Bryan J Tanner »

Hi we supply doors from a supplier that molds the MDF substrate and then laminates a vinyl to the front.

You can find them here http://www.arborlinedoors.co.nz

My questions is this, is there an easy way that I am overlooking to display a door or drawer in the style showen in the attached picture.

Thanks

Bryan, You can take a Slab Door to the PE. There you can create tool paths to get the look your after. Here is a quick sample that I did in a few minutes.

When I need a door like that
I make the in door maker start with a slab then I bring in a DXF that I make in a Cad program.
or you can make it in e-cabinets
Rick you beat me to it

Hey Bryan,
You could possibly talk to Arborline if your are a high user of there doors and ask them for a copy of the dxf for you to import into eCabinets?
I forget the guys name there now who I used to deal with, I think it was Andrew somebody? That way you can import it into the part editor...

What I'm wondering is can a formula be entered into the Constraints Manager which would allow the equal expansion or contraction of the field?

Yep, it can be done. not with just one formula though. The attached door is saved as a cabinet and is only a sample. You can see the depth difference in the profile cuts because it is a sample.

good morning

I downloaded the file "parametric door.hsf" to see how it works. But I do not know how to open it in e cabinets.
the file shows up in the drawbox section, how ever the drawer box editor will not open it.

it's a cabinet file. You will need to save it in one of your cabinet directories and open it in the cabinet editor.

thanks Daniel
so now I know, I can create almost any patern on a slab door as a parametric, attach it to a cabinet as an assembly. And be able to scale the assembly.
very cool.
