Hey Mike

I'm still alive but not allowed to do much of anything. I finally got to take my neck brace off last week so sleeping is a bit easier now.

I go back to the doctor in early January and I'm hoping everything will look good with the fusions.

By the way, here is a pic of the gizmo I have to wear four hours a day for the next year! No, that's NOT me in the pic but you can see why I would be afraid to wear it to an airport--might get mistaken for a terrorist.

Yes Dan, you might want to go ahead and send that necklace apparatus to Cancun before you head over there for 6 months of beach therapy. Might cost you a day or two with the TSA if you tried to get through with that around your neck.
Good to hear from you.

Yeah, not to mention the countdown timer on top and the constant tick-tick-tick sound coming from it.

Hi Dan,

Glad to hear you are getting better. What does that apparatus do other than looking pretty?

The doc removed two discs and replaced them with bone fragments and this is supposed to stimulate bone growth with small, electro-magnetic pulses.

Old age :wall:

Two completely worn out discs (had the same problem about 14 years ago and had another fusion) had to be removed and fused. I just had surgery on three discs in my lower (lumbar) back a year ago. I'm just falling apart.
