Line Drawings

Post by John J. Desmond »

There is recent post about line drawings for commercial grade presentations. My question about line drawings is this: What is the best way to get the doors and drawers out of the line drawing? Do you have to remove them on the entire job before doing the line drawing? I like the drawings to show just the face frames so that I can get opening sizes only. The only thing I use drawings for is building face frames and to add notes for build purposes. So, how can this be done?

John, you can just take your drawing into line drawing editor and hide the parts you dont want to show and then you can get dims....

Michael,

I have tried that before and it didn't seem to work. The doors were still on the cabinet. I can't get dimensions that way. I will try again to make sure.

Thanks,

John

John, works for me,go to line drawing editor, go to the toolbar and choose part, left click on part you want to hide, should turn green, then right click, choose hide and then your face frame opening should show and you can dim opening.

Michael,

I figured that out after I played with it for awhile. I tried to do it through Hide/Show which didn't work. Thanks for the help.
