Closet ideas

Post by Jason Susnjara »

Hi Guys,

I am finishing out the bedroom in the basement and in between the bedroom and bathroom is a hallway with a walk-in closet on both sides. I don't plan on putting interior doors in these spaces so I want to make sure the closets look nice. I am wanting some drawers, hangers, and shelves. Does anyone know of a website that gives consumers ideas for closet designs such as the attached picture? Also, is there a website that gives basic sizes of certain openings such as hanging pants and shirts.

thanks,

Jason...
Try these:

http://www.easyclosets.com/

http://www.californiaclosets.com

http://www.easytrack.com/easytrack/

Most of these end up being customizable, and may not list optimum sizes. You can measure your closet to ensure that the space fits your garments.

Hey Jason, are you looking for someone to cut and edgeband the closet parts for you? I have a really nice router and bander so I could fix you up.

Hi Gary,

Thank you for the information. This will help.

Hi Joe,

Thank you for the offer but I think I can find a machine and edgebander here. Now I just have to figure out how to use it again since being away from the machine on a daily basis :D

thanks,
Jason - If it were me I would get rid of the returns on each side of the closet ( the 9" sections and header if there is one) and build cabinets to fit inside the space. You will gain space and can use a mix of drawers and hanging space. Then just a casing around it to hide the rough drywall edges and cabinet doors and drawer fronts if you want. You have the technology to do this I'm sure. Here is an image from one of our members of free standing examples.
